Highly alkaline phenolic resin for use in the manufacture of cores in the foundry industry.
Application: for manufacturing foundry cores with carbon dioxide blowing. Resin PERMABIND CO provides high strength and low level of harmful secretions when stuffing rods and pouring. Typical binder consumption is 2.0–2.5% of the amount of sand, depending on the individual characteristics of the foundry. The PERMABIND CO binder for the cold-box resol CO2 process allows obtaining consistently high quality castings and is suitable for steel and cast iron.
Handling Precautions
The resin for the cold-box process PERMABIND CO contains components that can be dangerous if mishandled. Avoid contact with eyes and skin, wear protective clothing. Check the appropriate safety data sheet to ensure that the resin handling procedures are known and understood.
Storage
PERMABIND CO resin should be stored at a temperature of 5 … 25 С, protected from direct sunlight. Acceptable, but not recommended, storage at higher or lower temperatures. Storage at elevated temperatures significantly reduces shelf life.
